Welcome to my gallery!!! Photography makes me happy. It is my hobby, my passion and a way to spend my free time. Untill the middle of 2004 I was a happy owner of an analog camera Canon EOS300. But since november 2004 I am even a happier owner of Nikon d70, and this also was a reason why finally I decided to make my own web gallery. This gallery is the very first one. I have published here mainly photos from my trips. I also have two other galleries that are intended to be more topic-oriented. I invite you to visit :
www.kaa13.fotopic.net
and my online portfolio at:
www.kaa13.digart.pl
If you find my works interesting, irritating, lovely, dull or just great - let me know about it by sending a message or leaving a comment. Thank you for your visit! :)

 | 18th Jun 2008 | Warsaw in June
In June I went for a long weekend to Warsaw. We had only a few hours to run through the city and see as many as we could. Well, it was the Old Town mostly. I must say it is always so refreshing to go back to Warsaw, even for a few hours...

 | 13th Mar 2008 | Zeeland Weekend 2008
Thie year Joris, Maaike, Mudit, Si cong, Marcel and I went to Zeeland for our annual weekend trip. It was great, only the weather sucked and left me with a flue.
Pics also available at www.weglicka.com
The province of Zeeland is a large river delta situated at the mouth of several major rivers. Most of the province lies below sea level and was reclaimed from the sea by inhabitants over time. What used to be a muddy landscape, flooding at high tide and reappearing at low tide, became a series of small man-made hills that stayed dry at all times. The people of the province would later connect the hills by creating dikes, which led to a chain of dry land that later grew into bigger islands and gave the province its current shape. The shape of the islands has changed over time at the hands of both man and nature. The North Sea flood of 1953 inundated vast amounts of land that were only partially reclaimed. The subsequent construction of the Delta Works also changed the face of the province. The infrastructure, although very distinct by the amount of bridges, tunnels and dams, has not shaped the geography of the province so much as the geography of the province has shaped its infrastructure. The dams, tunnels and bridges that are currently a vital part of the province's road system were constructed over the span of decades and came to replace old ferry lines. The final touch to this process came in 2003 when the Westerschelde tunnel was opened. It was the first solid connection between both banks of the Westerschelde and ended the era of water separating the islands and peninsulas of Zeeland.

 | 13th May 2007 | Texel - The Netherlands
For the May weekend I had a chance to see Texel. Mudit, Marcel, Joris, Maaike and I went for a lovely weekend to this beautiful Dutch island. It was amazing to see its gorgeus landscape. Eventhough we expected rain, it was hardly raining, and hte sun welcomed us as we reached Texel's sand with a ferry. Here you can find pictures from this amazing island. More artistic ones are available at www.weglicka.com and www.kaa13.digart.pl.

Texel is a municipality and an island in the Netherlands, in the province of North Holland. It is the biggest and most populated of the Frisian Islands in the Wadden Sea and also the westernmost of this archipelago, which extends to Denmark. The next island in the archipelago, to the north of Texel, is Vlieland.
Texel’s landscape deviates strongly from that of the other Frisian islands, which consist mainly of sand and dune areas. The most important cause is the difference in soil structure, but the activities of generations of inhabitants have also left their mark.
Although spelled with an X the name is pronounced Tessel, this is because, historically, it was spelled with a ligature for "ss" which strongly resembled letter x. As the ligature disappeared from use, the name came to be spelled with an "x" but pronunciation remained the same.

 | 11th Apr 2007 | Luxembourg
For the long Easter weekend Ari, Monika, Mudit and I decided to go for a small trip to Luxembourg. Here we go...
Luxembourg City is the heart of the country in cultural, political and social respect. It is not only the country's capital but also one of the three capitals of the European Community (the other two being Strassbourg and Brussels).
Moreover, Luxembourg city is a banking centre and cosmopolitan town surrounded by magnificent historical fortifications, classified as world patrimony by UNESCO. The city is very pleasantly situated overlooking the Pétrusse and Alzette Valleys. Luxembourg was founded in 963 AD on a rocky outcrop known as "the Bock", by Sigefroid, Count of Ardennes, who expanded on a roman castillium, thus laying the cornerstone of a fortress that later was to become Luxembourg City.
While in no way comparable in size to most other European capitals, Luxembourg has a lot of charm and its people are justifiably proud of their country. The nation's motto 'Mir wëlle bleiwe wat mir sin' (We want to remain what we are) underlines the uniqueness of Luxembourg.
Apart from the numerous beautiful sights, the city of Luxembourg offers quite a good nightlife with a large number of pubs, cafes and discos despite of its small population of less than 100.000 people. By the way, more than 33% of the capital's population is of foreign origin. The biggest ethnic community is actually from Portugal, rendering a special Latin touch to the city . So it is no suprise that Luxembourg is a fantastic place for eating out, especially as it boasts of more Michelin stars per square mile (or per head of population) than any other country.

 | 7th May 2006 | Zandvoort aan Zee - first sip of summer in Holland
Zandvoort is best known for its beach. It is only 15 min far from Amterdam and has a vast expanse of sandy beach stretching over nine kilometres. An average of 100 metres wide. Plenty of space for recreational activities. Sailing, surfing and beach volleyball. On 7 May 2006 I checked it out myself. Take a look...

100 year old! Happy birthday to you! ;) My good old high school -"I.V. LO im dra Tytusa Chalubinskiego"- in Radom, PL. Time truly flies. Only at moments like this one you realize that you are getting older, more experienced and that you know more. How nice it was to see the big family of former students, often already showing off proudely with their white hair, greeting each other after no contact for dozens of years. I graduated in 1998, my younger brother graduated in 1999. My parents - I don't really remember when they graduated - but I.V. L.O. is definately a great family tradition.
Take a look at the smiles of people - and I hope you will enjoy it!

 | 1st Jul 2002 to 31st Aug 2002 | Outer Banks
The Outer Banks is a place where over 130 miles of barrier islands arc into the Atlantic Ocean like a taut bow forming beautiful, pristine beaches. Ocean, beach, warm cool breeze, beautiful sunsets and... catching crabs... I can't even think right now about better vacation. Outer Banks are very fotogenic. Check this collection out. I love it and... I will be back ;)

 | 25th Aug 2002 | Washington themes
As short as it was my visit in Waschington DC was amazing. I experienced this place and wonderful, mysterious, multicultural atmosphere of the city. White House seemed to be slightly bigger than in real life though. Anyways, whether you enjoy the quiet and relaxing, or fast and exciting you will find it here.
